Kuranda
Backpackers Hostel has all the regular facilities to offer and more.
But
there's much more to our place than just facilities. It has a unique character
and atmosphere which will make it feel more like home...
At the entrance to our hostel there
is a
large common room
where you can eat your meals, sit and chat with fellow travellers, play
pool or just relax.
And there's even a Stereo,
so whatever
you do, there can always be music
in the background.
Another good place to spend some
time is the TV/Video room
watching the latest videos, catch up on some news or watch a movie with friends.
Next to the common room is a spacious,
fully equipped kitchen where you can practice
your cooking expertise. We supply free fruit from the garden in season,
and as someone once said - all good things happen in the kitchen...
Outside
the kitchen there is a gas BBQ
that can be used whenever you feel like having an Aussie BBQ or a picnic
in the garden.
You won't see a tropical
garden as lush and beautiful as ours in any other
hostel. There will always be a quiet place to sit in the shade and read,
and you can help yourself with fruit from the trees - one of which is a
100 years old avocado tree!
On the second floor you'll find
a comfortable reading room
in which you can make use of the book exchange
or any of the free magazines.
Also on the second floor is our
world famous graffiti room
where our guests can write their pearls of wisdom (or whatever...) here.
How about some water activities?
- we have a great swimming pool
surrounded by grass, trees and sunshine.
If you are game, why not go for the lap record in the pool and get your name on our trophy.Currently
held by Tobias from Germany at 570 laps.
A great place to relax and be social
is on the small veranda
outside the common room where the cool breeze blows.
There are, of course, laundry facilities with a washing machine and a dryer.
For those arriving with a car there
is off road parking
for convenience.
It's
hard to describe in words the feeling you get when staying in our hostel.
You'll
have to come and experience for yourself...
